Club Policies & Guidelines

The following collection of policies, procedures & guidelines provides the framework with which Croydon Cricket Club operates in:

The Laws & Spirit of Cricket


Cricket is a game that owes much of its unique appeal to the fact that it should be played not only within its Laws but also within the Spirit of the Game.
Croydon Cricket Club subscibes to and operates within the Laws of Cricket as managed by the MCC since the 18th Century and plays it's matches in accordance with its traditional 'spirit'.


Code of Conduct Policy


All matches and Club functions shall be conducted in a manner that ensures members and/or visitors are able to participate and enjoy the occasion without being affected by irresponsible or unruly behaviour.
Croydon's Members & Supporters Code of Conduct & Parents Code of Behaviour policies support this outcome.
 

Anti-discrimination Policy

 

 

 

Croydon Cricket Club is strongly committed to ensuring that all officials, members and players are able to participate in cricket in an environment free of racial or religious vilification. The club applies and supports the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association's "RACIAL and RELIGIOUS VILIFICATION Policy".
The Anti-discrimination policy should also be applied in conjunction with Federal & State laws where applicable.
 

Proposed: to replace the club's Members & Supporters Code of Conduct, Parents Code of Behaviour policies & Anti-discrimination Policy with the following

Code of Conduct
Croydon Cricket Club has adopted all the provisions of the
Victorian Code of Conduct for Community Sport, for all club sanctioned activities. Every club member; spectator, player, club official, coach or parent involved with the club, should work to ensure:
  • inclusion of every person regardless of their age, gender or sexual orientation;
  • inclusion of every person regardless of their race, culture or religion;
  • opportunities for people of all abilities to participate in the sport and develop to their full potential;
  • respect is shown towards others, the club and the broader community;
  • a safe and inclusive environment for all;
  • elimination of violent and abusive behaviour; and
  • protection from sexual harassment or intimidation
 

Bowling Injury Prevention

 
The "BOWLING INJURY PREVENTION" policy as described in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association's Handbook applies to junior bowlers in Croydon 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th XI games
 

Injury Code

 
The "INJURY CODE" as described in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association's Handbook applies to Croydon 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th XI games
 

Extreme Weather Policy

The Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association's "EXTREME WEATHER GUIDELINES" applies to Croydon 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th XI games.

Playing Policy
Croydon Cricket Club has adopted all playing provisions as published by Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association for all club VSDCA games. Every player & team offical involved with the club should make themselves aware & follow the 
 


Working With Children

 
Under the  State Government Working with Children Act 2005, the Victorian Working with Children Check (“Check”) will require individuals who work or volunteer with children in certain capacities in identified occupations and activities to undergo screening for criminal offences.
 

Alcohol Policy

 
The sale and consumption of alcohol by Croydon Cricket Club and it's members and guests is done under the club's liquor license terms & conditions.
